CrinEar Project Monolith

I find these to be quite tremendous. I love the tuning of this IEM lots while the weight makes the vibrations of the sub-bass feel full and rumbly down to my bones. Mids and highs are great but seems appropriate for the price so no comment there. Eartip selection is wonderful and there's so many coming with one IEM. My only issue is the cable, it's a bit thick and stiff that when worn over a longer period it would start to chafe on my ears

These are fantastic. Hopefully, they spawn something more readily available. I listen to everything, but metal captures 75% of my listening time. A lot of metal, particularly deathcore and progressive metal, relies on electric bass layered in with a synthesized sub-bass/sampled 808 to anchor a song during breakdowns. Most IEMs fail to reproduce this, or if they do, they muddy everything else as a sacrifice to the breakdown gods. The Monoliths, hooo man, they get it. They are superb. The space and separation they create while keeping the bass necessary for some kick is a gift. I pulled up Job for a Cowboy's track Emtombment of a Machine which has some big punches and I was not disappointed. I know I need to get off metal and pressure test these elsewhere, but fuck, they're just so good. BMTH Dehumanized? Insane through them. At The Gates, Unfathomable? Overwhelming. If all of that is too dad-metal for you, Showing Teeth, Labrynth is fast, fun, and a bit furious. The Monoliths keep up with the highs, don't wash out the mids, and let the drops live their best lives.

The IEMs have a tasteful bass without going into madness. Well tuned, hefty bass with minimum bleed and the rest of the sound is present too. The chunky case is a great touch with the overall look and feel of the iem.

This is a bold statement for an IEM. It looks and feels like a luxury unit right out of the box. Despite the heavy shells, the fit actually settles into my ear well for long listening sessions.

I got to preview the Monolith at CanJam NYC 2026 and the stock tuning delivers the massive, physical low-end rumble and heavy slam I recall - it's a total blast!

On certain songs, the sub-bass can be a bit much and dominate the mix. But all it takes is dialing the bass shelf down a few dB with EQ on those specific tracks. Other than taking the edge off the low end when a song needs it, no other EQ changes are necessary for me. The standard tuning for the mids and treble is already right on the money.
