Sound wise it's good, it's bassy, does what it advertises. Physically, you cannot wear this for more than 2 hours max. It will hurt your ear canals. If you got elephant ears, give this a try, otherwise look elsewhere.
Over the last few years I have purchased (and kept) a fairly typical path through the IEM market. My previous top set was the Blessing 3 and I was mostly happy with all around performance. I also have a good collection of headphones and I thought the B3's were not where I wanted to end my collection. I was going to step up to the ThieAudio MKiii but opted for the ThieAudio Origin after some research praising these more recent IEMs. These are a completely different class of IEM from the B3's! I have paired with my Mojo2, Qudellix 5k, Sony 707 DAP, MacBook Pro, Dragonfly Cobalt and so on and they are all a great listening experience.
The immersion, bass level, accuracy exceed all of my previous IEMs. I don't expect them to be in the level of headphones but they are the closest I have experienced and I don't feel any let down when switching from my HifiMan HE1KS. The build quality seems great and love the design. The cable is a little thick but it needs to be for the larger size enclosures. The nozzles are comfortable for me but some may think they are a bit chunky. Rolled through a good selection of tips and narrowed down to a Dunu Candy tips but several other deliver great results for me as well.
The case looks good but after a few weeks it is showing a bit of wear due to how the top fits into the bottom and it is easily bendable. It was a little small anyway so I moved them to a larger hard case.
I have no reason to listen to any other IEMs and now I just reach for these. I went through the EQ exercise but I found it unnecessary for my taste and have just been listening to them straight up with great results! Great job ThieAudio. Thanks to The Hangout for great communication and getting my shipment delivered timely and well packaged.
Gonna skip specifics and just say that this set plays everything I listen to (which includes a lot of heavy music) beautifully. There's a richness to them; I never get the sense that the sound is thin in any places where I'd expect otherwise. And the bass is legit.
