Good but not perfect

I originally got this because two reviewers–Resolve and Mark Ryan–described it as a better Truthear Hexa and it definitely is; the bass is punchier and the mids sound great. I did find some sibilance in some tracks and sometimes when I used them for meetings however. The main reason I am docking a star is due to build quality.
The issues I have with the build are twofold: the faceplate and the cable.
I find the faceplate’s aesthetics fine except for the old-fashioned font for the ‘Volume S’ but where it meets the body seems to have very poor tolerances. It is sharp and irritates my ear when I lie down with them. This makes the iems feel a lot cheaper and is especially egregious on a 320usd iem when the Hexa, an 85usd iem, has much better build quality in my opinion.
The much greater problem I have is with the cable. I have a couple other paracord cables, granted all for over-ear headphones, and I have not experienced a cable with such annoying microphonics except this one. I usually have my iem cables under my shirt or under a jacket to help with cable management and, when there is no music playing, all I can hear is the rubbing of my shirt. Even with music, it is really noticeable and is a huge shame for an otherwise great sounding–and expensive–iem.
