CrinEar Reference [Pre-order]

In the past, I never would have thought that “flat” could sound so beautiful. And since I know that Crinacle never overpromises and I've trusted them for a long time, I ordered the Reference. They sound fantastic. Even with my aging ears, I can make out every instrument. Everything has its place and a delicate sense of space. I highly recommend the Reference!

Sounds very clear, lacking a bit of something in the mid bass.
Main complaint is the protrusion on back of the shell that causes pain above my ear canal openning. Inclusion of extra small silicone tip is good because it is the only one that fits me.

In my younger years I worked for a major loudspeaker manufacturer, he was also a personnel friend. I would sometimes sit and watch him smooth out the speaker responses of systems that had been built. I can appreciate the flat response of the Reference IEM, no colouring of the signal I paid a lot of money to reproduce and if I wish to add some colour, I can.

To my ears, at least, they have become my main IEM option in no time.
Bass is well balanced, goes deep, and do not leak to low mid.
Mediums are clean, without anything to say about it, that's already a lot;
Highs are well extended, non fatiguing, and also correctly balanced.
They are not the most fun IEM but they are the closest to my idea of what a neutral sound should be.
I can listen to all kinds of genre, EDM, Metal, Classical, Jazz without being frustrated by lack or excess of things.

The entire package was very well thought through. Nothing fancy. Just the absolute necessities. CrinEar Reference build quality is amazing. Subjective as it may be, it produces the closest to studio sound masters. Exceptional imaging and resolution. Mid bass presence is surprisingly enjoyable. Non-fatiguing IEM. Incredible pricing point for such a high quality product.

Keep up the fantastic work, CrinEar team. This Reference unit paves the way for introduction of variety of differently tuned CrinEar IEMs in the near future.
