The World’s Flattest In-Ear Monitors.
Purpose-built for absolute neutrality, the CrinEar Reference is a precision-engineered in-ear monitor designed to deliver true reference-grade sound. Tuned to a −1.0 dB/octave population-averaged diffuse field target and verified under ITU-T Type 4.3 conditions, the Reference achieves exceptional tonal accuracy, balance, and transparency; making it ideal for critical listening, studio monitoring, and mix evaluation.
At its core is a 2DD + 3BA hybrid driver system, featuring a Horizontally-Opposed Dual Woofer System (HODWS) for clean, controlled bass with reduced distortion, paired with balanced armatures for precise midrange and extended treble detail. A 5-axis CNC-machined aluminium shell offers durability, acoustic stability, and a contoured pseudo-custom fit for long-term comfort.
A benchmark for a new age. The Reference.

The product is as advertised , but i was a bit dissapointed initally , the fit for the ears took a while to figure out ,which has a big impact on the actual sound in that if not snug the sound comes across as "tinny" and not full , however once sorted you get the true feel. Also there is no clear markings very small on which is R or L espically when operating in dark enviroments , also when changing 3.5 jacks there is a little indent that you have to be aware of but again not clear , as one can put them in wrong way around and they will not make contact correctly leaving you with only one side working .On the audio side the sound is clear and the seperation and depth is excellent . I use them as one of my refrence listening units in my studio , as a mastering engineer.
Daybreak turned me into a full-on CrinEar fan, so I had incredibly high expectations for Reference.
I ended up placing my order just four minutes after launch, and I think I might have been one of the first people in Korea to receive it.
Honestly, it sounded so good that I started questioning whether my ears were playing tricks on me. I even sent it to Korea’s “Earphone Archive” for measurements and an independent review because the experience felt almost unreal.
The result? It was every bit as good as I thought. The tuning, the technical performance, the presentation—everything felt complete.
For the first time in a very long while, my IEM upgrade itch was completely gone.
So please, release Monolith already.
Bring my dormant IEM addiction back to life.
Very well built IEM. Metal shelves and good shape fitting my ear perfectly. Sounds is neutral as expected. You can play with equalisation or leave it as is. Still decent level of bass and nice details. I like it
Does exactly what it claims to do. Sounds good all around, but might require EQ to taste if you are buying it for enjoyment and not work.
It is extremely neutral, this may present as boring or dull to many. However, this is an excellent base to adjust to your own taste with no noticeable flaws in the sound. Other IEMs in my ear tended to have too much bass, or a spiky treble that is difficult to fix with EQ. As far as I can tell, this has no issues and was very easy to adjust.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a neutral IEM, but perhaps not to those wanting a more exciting listening experience out of the box.
Advertised as neutral and it delivers very well.
I have true neutral IEMs for stage use, but I wouldn’t use these for listening pleasure because they are flat as can be. These IEMs are neutral without being boring in any way.
