Thieaudio's Hype series takes in-ear monitors to the next level with the Hype 4. This earphone combines cutting-edge driver technology for exceptional sound. Its key feature is the IMPACT subwoofer system, delivering powerful, controlled bass. The Hype 4 goes a step further with custom-tuned Sonion drivers. These include ultra-tweeters for crisp highs and dual midrange drivers for detailed, accurate mids. The result is a studio-quality sound signature that's both precise and enjoyable. Inheriting the best aspects of past Thieaudio models, the Hype 4 boasts clear separation between bass, mids, and treble. This makes it ideal for audiophiles and anyone who prioritizes clear and detailed sound reproduction.

This is my 4th unit owned and I'm figuring out the Hype-4 series has large tuning variations..
The one I received came tuned with a very shy Bass, while keeping the elevated upper air region. Bass is supposed to bring balance to the airiness but in my case the sound came out dry and too analytical / fatiguing depending on the audios.
The 3 previous units owned did not suffered this, quite the opposite of that actually.
While the layering /technical aspect remains great this tilted tuning caused some pain in
certain use cases, mostly in games. The volume scaling is also negatively affected as a result.
I'm wondering if the iem came faulty because the bass is seriously refrained affecting the overall balance of the set.
For info, my 1st unit that I got in may 2024 had a perfect tuning (no extra airiness, the bass was tight but also very present). I sold them in regrets bc of financial issues.
Later on my unit 2 and 3 that I got sec hand for testing were overly warm, lacking tightness separation in comparison.
As a result unit 2 and 3 sounds much like my 169€ set from Myer audio., the SL-41.
That set ends up being a better value considering price-to-perf ratio,
It does have a better ear fit too and brings 90% sound similarity of this 400€ set which is sad to know..
The lastest iem purchases experiences makes me want to stick with less expensive sets to avoid the frustration. I did not expected to experience this at the price.
I might come with a video review later on but this is all I wanted to share.
After many years of using the blessing 2 dusks, it was time for an upgrade. The IEMs are perfect for me, exactly what I wanted. The sub bass has a great rumble, the mid bass is punchy and tight without drowning out the mids. The mids are balanced and the treble is bright and intense. This is my introduction into the "new meta" sound profile and I must say, I'm a fan. I mostly listen to heavier music which is usually tuned pretty bass heavy and these handle it well.
I'm also an FPS gamer. The imaging and sound stage on these is fantastic. I also feel like the bass boost helps with directional audio of footsteps and gunshots.
Very impressed with the service from hangout.audio as well, great work Crin! Hope to visit the shop in person one day. :)
These iems are amazing.
Impeccable service at hangout, and for the IEM itself, love the relatively neutral sound signature. As I'm not a basshead nor do I like an overly warm signature, I like the subtle increase in sub bass, keeping the overall mix clean and detail-focused. Not the most ideal bass presentation overall but happy enough with it. Beautiful shell aesthetic, only real drawback is the size of the IEM, make sure you deno it and see if you can get a good fit before buying.
The sound of these are great, but I would say that I can’t really tell too much of a difference between them and my Simgot EM6L’s. The provided ear tips are not too great for small ears, and I had to get some spinfit ones to properly fit my ears
They are also quite large iems, so they sag a little bit even when fully in your ears and kind of weigh on the cartilage of your ears.
