Measurements by Hangout.Audio

A New Dawn.

Daybreak debuts as CrinEar’s first full-production IEM, a bold step forward in design, tuning, and execution. Engineered to push the limits of acoustic precision and performance, the Daybreak establishes a new benchmark in the constantly advancing world of in-ear monitors.

The CrinEar Daybreak is meticulously tuned to the IEF Preference 2025 curve: an evolution of the Population-Averaged Diffuse Field target that blends natural, speaker-like tonality with a dynamic and engaging low-end response.

At its core is a fully custom driver array:

  • A custom-spec dynamic subwoofer delivers deep, controlled bass

  • Custom-developed balanced armatures provide accurate, detailed mids

  • Next-generation micro-planar tweeters ensure exceptional treble extension and clarity

Every component is purpose-built to achieve tonal perfection and immersive fidelity.

Surprisingly good

This new pair of IEMs is impressive—nicely tuned and reasonably priced. I’m not a bass head, but I do appreciate solid low-end when listening to jazz, R&B, lo-fi, and similar genres. These IEMs deliver just the right amount of punch—impactful without being overdone. Overall, great work, Crinear Team!!

Almost perfect

They look nicer in the flesh than on photos. Quite comfortable with the wide-bore tips, not so much with the regular/narrow ones - but then I have dainty little ear canals, so should be fine for most people. I like the cable - light, flexible, almost no microphonics, working chin-slider, fits with the black + silver aesthetic of the IEMs.
The sound required some tuning to work for me. With the wide-bore tips they are simply too dark. Works on a lot of music, but orchestral recordings turned into a confusing mess - I guess since high-frequency reverbations/directional cues are cut off. They are better, for me, with the regular tips, but were still lacking in clarity. After a bit of tinkering on squiglink a Moondrop-Chu-style lower treble shelf fixed those issues. Still not perfect (my EQ-Fu is weak), but more enjoyable than any other IEMs I have. I can now happily listen to symphonies when the situation does not allow me to use full-size headphones, and I do not feel like I am missing out. The staging is now very good, everything sounds pretty natural, and the instruments (or at least instrument groups) are easy to distinguish.

The sub $200 USD IEM to get

Great sound quality. This is the best middle ground IEM. I will recommend this as the best buy-one-iem-for-all.

Great

hey I'm not an ear listening expert but these are the best sounding audio product I've had. I've had some expensive anc headphones but honestly these sound so much more lively and fun and made some of my old favourites come alive.

Clear and precise

Sound was airy and bright. Bass was solid. I’m just a newbie so I’m super impressed with the quality against the price point.
